What's Happening in Lake View

A quiet morning, tho not quite still
Bird chirping subdued, they feared Sunny,
The bright orange and white.
Harlequin face torti queen
Long white stockings on lovely hind limbs
White tip flourished on tail
Swished seductively was seen
By the black cat who chased her
With a nip on the rump, the torti did cry.

What part of drill do you not get?
Black cat glared with intense yellow eyes.
Torti queen vanished.
Black cat stalked the street,
No other feline in sight.

Then Sunny strode out
Looked like he might
Give another fledgling a try.
Black cat gave a stern look.
Sunny smiled, Maybe later.

The street now vacant,
Just like last night
A pile of kibble under a car
You’d think that the cats
Would not have gone far.
The black cat trotted off
This drill must be done right!
He huffed and was out of sight.

Calico Grace sauntered
Across the street for a little nibble.
She never resisted a pile of kibble.
Thought black cat would never leave.
Grace mewed sweetly.
Sunny stepped out of the dark
From under the house.
Grab a bite and go,
Black cat just went to the park.

Drill, drill I’m famished!
What’s with this drill anyhow?
Calico Grace wanted to know.

I can’t tell you now.
Sunny said with a smirk.
There’s a human listening!!
Enjoy your day Lake View.
