On a day overcast and somewhat dreary, not a feline stirred.
Streets seem so serene, so green, so still, but not quiet.
The birds were LOUD: CHEEP-CHEEP, CHEEP-CHEEP.
FEED ME! FEED ME! Grackle young cried.
Where have all the cats gone. The dogs and I went for a walk. We’d find out. Blondie and Chi-ping almost always know where the kitties are – nothing, nada cat or a gato.
Makes me wonder what else the black cat said Monday! Doesn’t it?
Chirping LOUDER, LOUDER the Grackle young demanded, FEED ME, GIVE ME MORE!! The screech shattered the morning.
A scream from the tree, suddenly silence melted into a subdued: chee-chee
Lanky, bright, orange and white young kitty man, called Sunny, dined al fresco. Ah, that was good. (a pause, a twitch of the whisker) talk about stealth, that screaming bird never saw it coming, he smiled re-living the feat.
Orange and white teen cat on the way out paused behind the rear tire of my sister’s car. He looked at me in my chair by the front tire.
Sunny looked at me for what felt like a while. I thought I needed to give Sunny some water. Cats need water even more than food.
No sooner had I thought this when sunny moved along.
The Grackle young want to cry loudly, but don’t.
Tension in the air says birds are worried- the marauding, screeching, storming birds.
SILENCE reigns for moments! CHEEPING STOPS.
A thud to the ground, another bird down
Stealthy, thy name is cat reigns as in time immemorial.
Thanks to the work of the black cat.
Bright student young Sunny, loud coloring showing did slay today a loud screaming ass little vermin.
Sunny retired for a nap; said to tell you, Leave the gratuity on the mat by the door….. And don’t forget the water.
Enjoy your day, New Orleans!!
